Energy Delta Institute (EDI) is an international energy business school, with a primary focus on natural gas and the role of gas in the energy transition. EDI was founded in 2002 by N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, GasTerra B.V., OAO Gazprom and the University of Groningen, later joined by Shell, Dong, Eneco, EBN, Taqa, Tebodin, A.Hak and Denys. The energy community has come to appreciate EDI both as a platform of knowledge exchange between partners and participants alike. The changing energy world is forcing energy companies to innovate in order to stay competitive. In addition, the energy sector is confronting the possibility of a growing shortage of qualified personnel in the coming decades.

The sector has only one choice: to invest in knowledge. EDI’s main objective is to contribute to the professional development of current and future energy managers. EDI develops and organizes training programmes and network events with a focus on the economic, management, legal and geopolitical aspects of the energy business. EDI's headquarters, hotel "Hampshire Plaza", is appropriately situated right on top of the Groningen field, Europe's largest gas field. EDI brings together world-class knowledge and business skills to educate energy professionals to become the future leaders of the energy industry. Our vision is to become an internationally recognized business school, linking world class knowledge about the energy sector with business skills, and combining it with academic excellence. We strive to prepare energy professionals for the challenges that lay ahead in a continuously changing world, by offering them different perspectives on energy related topics - together with business- and knowledge Partners - through a diverse range of learning methods, facilitating a highly valuable learning experience.

Triggered by all changes and developments in our gas industry you have questions, a desire to know more. And no doubt you want answers that are not only relevant, but are also of a certain level.

EDI's research and training programmes are developed in close collaboration with market parties and academic parties and therefore have a very high quality. The interaction between theory and practice creates an outstanding theoretical level as well as partial applicability of the provided knowledge. In order to guarantee you this high quality EDI has several boards that keep a close eye on all EDI's programmes. So you will get the best training, on the highest level, with the unique expertise and skills of all parties involved. All these boards have members from EDI's founding fathers (Gasunie, University of Groningen and Gazprom) and from other partners. EDI's boards are the Executive Board and the International Supervisory Board.

EDI is set up as a joint foundation of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, GasTerra B.V., OAO Gazprom and the University of Groningen, joined by Shell in 2006. In 2002 the Russian and Dutch governments discussed the foundation of a platform for the exchange of knowledge in the energy sector. N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie decided to take the lead in this initiative and approached the University of Groningen for their vast knowledge of educational programmes. Gazprom's role was defined in a memorandum of understanding, which represents Gazprom's commitment to the Energy Delta Institute initiative. Partners involved in EDI vary from Founding partners, Associated partners, Business partners, Academic and Professional Knowledge partners, Operational partners and Fellows.

Eurasia Dialogue - Moscow, Russia. On the 11th of December 2014, European and Russian partners of Energy Delta Institute (EDI) were brought together at the IMEMO Conference Hall in Moscow for the prominent event - Eurasia Dialogue. During this event, EDI connected businesses, academia and research institutions from West European and Russian oil and gas sectors, in order to exchange their knowledge and experiences on the most highly-debated topics within the energy industry. Moreover, this event offered to its participants a unique opportunity to debate on a number of energy issues from both, West European and Russian perspectives.

After two very successful editions in 2012 and 2013, we were honored to organize the third edition of Eurasia Dialogue with the theme: Global Gas Trends. This year, more than 200 people have been registered for this event. The event covered three topics within the theme of Global Gas Trends, which were addressed by our distinguished key speakers.
